This is correct although the Christian concept of sexual morality if you were raised into it is very hard for people to overcome mentally. I wasn't but you can see how much of a grip it has on people...
when i was growing up in USSR the stigma attached to divorce was comparable to the stigma attached to fucking dogs in USA
people lowered their voice when speaking about somebody's divorce as if it was something unspeakable ... and Christianity wasn't even a thing in USSR ...
i guess these things aren't necessarily inherent to Christianity or anything else but rather in different societies different institutions may play the same role ... so in USSR the government played every role while in US we have the "two party system" such that Churches teach Republican children they will go to hell if they masturbate while Schools teach Democrat children how to use butt plugs.
because American system is based on divide and conquer while for example Chinese system is simply based on submission to authority
