Sure, but neither is a substitute for the other. Ecash is custodial and Monero isn't. Ecash doesn't currently hide amounts from third parties either (the mint). Monero hides amounts from third parties even if you use someone elses node. Ecash also suffers from a major catch 22 when it comes to publ...
