Once you get the core belief that X must be true, then all other things distort to fit that core belief, not the other way around.
You can even see it in the language sometimes. The claims of "4-d chess" and all that rubbish. The tautology they spout that whatever he's clearly doing, it's not ACTUALLY what he's doing, the fault lies in your inability to understand whatever he's doing.
It's what narcissists and cults do.
