To a normal person I think safest bet is they send to their exchange first then buy a completely different hardware device tbh, firmware updates and new seeds probably 1/10 people gonna fuck it up
I have swept two of my “nephews’” wallets to a multi vendor multi sig with external entropy. obviously not scalable but can work with close friends and family with relatively small stacks in an emergency such as this one.
