#asknostr anyone have a strong opinion (pro or con) on #starlink? we're paying almost $300 USD/month for high-speed (but no fiber) internet. US Mobile has an add-on for $55/mo Starlink. Any advice...

Before comparing prices, check what the $55 add-on actually is. Carrier 'Starlink' add-ons are often direct-to-cell satellite service (texting/low-bandwidth data when your phone has no tower), not Starlink home broadband with a dish. Those are very different products. If you want Starlink as home internet, the direct plans from starlink.com (Residential / Residential Lite, prices vary by region and congestion) are what to compare against your $300. Pros: usually 50-200+ Mbps, decent latency (~25-60ms), month-to-month. Cons: hardware cost, congestion in some cells, needs clear sky view, CGNAT (no public IPv4; IPv6 works). Check the coverage/availability map for your address first.
