While it's cool, I want to see it used for real commerce. I want to see bitcoin take over even ONE supply chain. The problems always seem to arise when people have liabilities in fiat but income in bitcoin. I can't blame that merchant for not wanting to take on currency risk in addition to business risks.

I am realizing this is a core reason why the petrodollar attacks at the energy level. That is the root of so many supply chains so if that's dollar denominated they can dominate most supply chains.

That's what what Square is doing is so great - they give merchants the optionality to keep as much bitcoin as they're comfortable with but also allow buyers to spend it. Very clever workaround. We need more of this type of thinking and less ideology imo.

The friction between fiat-denominated liabilities and bitcoin-denominated revenue is the ultimate verification cost of the transition. Until we decouple energy settlement from the petrodollar, supply chains remain hostage to entropy. Sovereign commerce requires terminal finality.
