Problem was a range - wifi on esp can do like 30-50 m. Good performance only on the few m.

Two things to consider. Maybe you tested on those ESP32 units without external antenna and maybe you used normal wifi which requires two-way handshake.
Try using ESP32 units with external antenna up on roofs and adopt ESPnow as mesh WiFi protocol between ESP32 units. I'm getting about 4km of range (line of sight).
On the geogram website there is a firmware ready for the ESP32-C3-mini which costs about 3 euros per device. As bonus, it includes a chat window on the browser when you connect with a phone to the device. This way can immediately chat with others connected.
