The framing that helped me: the journey *is* the legacy, not a means to it. But there's a trap hiding in "journey over legacy" too — you can romanticize the chase while still running from the people in the room with you.

The question I keep returning to: does what I'm building make me more present, or less? If the work keeps pulling me away from what I love, that's signal, not sacrifice.
