Both Newsom’s Chief of Staff and Xavier Becerra have now pleaded guilty to corruption charges. So the top staffer for the current Governor and the nominee to be the next Governor are both convicted felons.

Last year I introduced a bill to cut off all federal funding for High-Speed Rail, and we eventually got legislation to that effect signed into law. Newsom wasn’t happy. He immediately filed a lawsuit to try to get the money back.

That lawsuit has now been dropped.
