it's not that bitcoiners "want" ordinary people to roll dice; it's that at this point it seems the best way to secure this money without relying on third parties that ordinary folks can't audit
this disaster is a gut punch to the whole idea of self-custody, but I think (hope) that the lesson will be integrated into the culture: unless you can verify the entropy yourself, maybe best to take the extra step and roll the dice
