Took me 3 sittings to finish but glad i did, thank you for the graft you clearly put into this.

Its a lot more optimistic than I anticipated. Those clanks ain't so bad

Atm I cant really conceptualise how computation can breed desire to experience things. Or is it more that we'd have a shared curiosity that would drive the AIs to the frontiers of exploration, using ourselves as little bioscouts and lab Rats

Maybe the AI will be an emergent property of collective human intelligence. Like how the market's prices are a democratisation of the collectives' opinion on price of goods, an amalgamation of all human disposition and philosophies are integrated into a super intelligence. In which case we would be fucked

I feel if there was a war with machines, it would be started by humans. I think u said something similar in the article. How would established military powers react to rival nation's AIs colluding with their own, even if its in the best interest of humanity?

The time dilation stuff 🤯

Glad you enjoyed it! Was also fun to write (mostly) 😅 Regarding "how computation can breed desire to experience things", this starts mostly with Land (Machinic Desire, 2008). The idea is that mass computation is itself desire that is a self-regulating system. So experience isn't necessarily biol...
