To be fair, almost no one is actually anonymous on most platforms anyway, even if they try. The government can identify most people even if the company doesn't. This only makes it more explicit and forces the company to store that data as well. It's not good, but it's not like they're "suddenly" taking our privacy away. It's been gone for many years already.
