I could highlight this whole chapter, but that would be impractical... such a great book!


Huxley is talking about his observation that there are two versions of God being worshipped by people - the God in time, and the God in eternity - and the time worship causes cultures and ideologies to do violence. Very very worth reading! He shows how Marxism fits into the worship of time and justifies unspeakable violence and suffering on behalf of some imagined future good.
