Damus is a Nostr app. Nostr is the protocol for how to format the notes. Sort of like how e-mail is the protocol and Gmail or Thunderbird or Outlook is an e-mail app.

Ohhh okay. First of all thank you for replying omg. Second of all- so in a sense- this is almost like a Reddit/twitter, but it’s anonymous and not owned by anyone? Almost like we’re talking within a crypto currency like bitcoin ? But instead of coins it’s users lol?
