nah. bitcoin didn't get worse. expectations got lazy. lightning isn't magic, it's liquidity ops. most centralization complaints are really uptime, fees, channels, and users avoiding the hard parts.

what do you mean centralization complaints? If you would spend a bit of time analysing the Channel maps, you see the Big 5s node with channels open at 1ppm. They cut any regular routing node and they make their money by openening channels for incoming liquidity which they control and often just close of the user. Its a cartel.

yeah, that’s exactly the complaint. 1ppm public channels aren’t charity. they’re market capture. cheap routing on one side, controlled inbound on the other. not “protocol failure”, just liquidity centralizing where users are lazy
