You only need a cable and a browser to install GrapheneOS, it takes less than 10 minutes and only a few clicks. I don't get why people pay to have it pre-installed, it's a huge privacy/risk too.

Because for a lot of people who never flashed a phone, it looks like a daunting task that could brick it if you screw it up and they're concerned about not knowing how to troubleshoot issues.
And yes, Graphene is very easy to flash, but you compare to pre-installed OS for most users.
Maybe, we should organize Graphene install parties like they exist for GNU/Linux on computers.
