I gotta say this is the craziest estimate I’ve yet seen…but this woman is correct on how broken how health care and debt based system is broken.

When I was a kid growing up in a small town in south Louisiana (1970s) there were many farmers (single income families) with only catastrophic health insurance (meaning they paid outta pocket for elective surgery) who often had six or more kids. In some of these families most of the kids had tonsil and adenoidectomies and often PE tubes when they were younger (often associated with hypertrophic adenoids and tonsils).

Somehow this was completely affordable on single incomes (these were farmer that in many cases did not own the land they farmed!!!!…meaning they shared the revenues with the land owner) and still could send their kids to catholic schools and afford medical bills!!!!😳🤯

I wonder WTF happened in 1971 …that changed our lives so dramatically over the ensuing 50 years🤔🤨🤷🏽‍♂️

…having recently retired from the medical field, one of the biggest reliefs is not having to explain to frenz and patients the ridiculous costs of healthcare…if u feel like ur being ripped off it’s cuz u absolutely are!!!!
