@nprofile1q... I recently watched a video of a bird eating from a bowl of seeds and chaff, and at normal speed, it looks like a flurry of pecks, blurred by speed. The video then showed the slow motion view, and you can see the bird peck, get a seed into their beak, taste the seed with their tongue, and eat the sead, *OR* the bird pecks, fails to get a seed, pauses for a microsecond to retract its tongue and think "fuck this", then it sweeps its beak angrily back and forth in the bowl, sweeping seeds and chaff out of it, and then repeats the loop.
