If LLMs are a ddos on open source maintainers (which they are), then it’s also important to remember that security research that doesn’t contribute fixes such as Project Zero was/is a dos on maintainers. Corporations have always been extractive in their relationship here. Microsoft only contributed to Linux because you can’t offer a cloud that’s just Windows Server. AWS only does open source to undermine less permissively licensed projects. The relationships, contrary to what a lot of high profile people and the LF would say, were always extremely poisonous to any positive impact foss could have as a whole.
