Imo, if you have a car payment, you fucked up
Just buy the best used car you can comfortably buy for all cash
Otherwise take the bus and save up
The cash for clunkers program under Obama in the USA made this infeasible. 90% of used cars now are trash and any decent one is still way overpriced.
