Great blog post.

I do find it kinda funny how the minimalist smartphone thing is trendy. For example, having a smartphone with an e-ink display.
Obviously, it’s because it makes the phone less fun to use, which therefore, should make it less addictive.
It depends a lot on discipline I suppose, but for me, I just deleted all social media apps many months ago.
TikTok was the first one to be deleted because I found it to be super addictive. Time just flies while using that app…
Then I deleted the rest of them.
I do have a few Nostr clients installed on my phone, but I don’t use them as “social media”. Like, scrolling other people’s stuff I rarely do. Instead I use Nostr as a personal blog.
I would feel so sad about giving away my phone for a phone with e-ink display (usually their refresh rate is SLOOOOOW).
You can choose to use your smartphone for productive things (navigation, taking notes, mail, etc.). It’s just a matter of discipline to not use it for doomscrolling or shit like that.
