I had a similar experience mountain biking. Came across a kid yelling for help standing over his dad. Long story short his dad hit a drop and smacked his head so hard it cracked his helmet and brushed his skull. He fractured his neck, broke a rib, and had brain bleeding. He was out and snoring for 8 minutes and in and out of breathing. I was the first responders to the scene and was shaken up for about a week.
