I got banned from Primal for promoting a new decentralized freedom technology stack ( pubky.app )
Primal is excellent software and I have a lot of respect for their work and UI/UX design (even if it's just a clone of X's design). Also, Paul and his beautiful family are an inspiration - PV!
However, how is this any better than X? Elon doesn't ban people for promoting Nostr on X, but Primal banned me for promoting Pubky.app ? I'm using Amethyst to post this note - hopefully Victor is a genuine cypherpunk.
I'm still rooting for Nostr and Primal (and now Amethyst), but I'm disheartened to learn that all the "Nostr is permissionless free speech" talk is just empty marketing copy. I was under the impression that getting banned wasn't even possible, but now it's painfully clear that Primal is centrally controlled.
We're never gonna win if we keep acting like greedy fiat crabs in a bucket. The Big Tech oligopoly isn't our biggest threat - it's greed, technology tribalism, ego, cultism and fear of new and superior technologies.
The good news is that there's a new, truly permissionless and decentralized protocol that gives users new superpowers (tags, edit, delete, etc.). No loading lag, no missing notes or notifications, no "mystery cache severs", no annoying bots and scammers. No shameless shills preying on the plebs with financial shenanigans and copium.
