If the base chain gets so bloated that running a node requires an enterprise server, we price out the everyday people who actually need Bitcoin the most. That’s exactly why we focus so heavily on the Lightning Network here on the ground. We can let folks buy their everyday goods instantly and cheaply on L2, while keeping the base layer decentralized and accessible for anyone to run a node. ⚡

Lightning Network helps but node decentralization requires more, like pruning and UTXO compression to reduce storage needs.
