I love Texas. Spent lots of time in Houston and Galveston. I just remember hopping off the plane at Bush in August and feeling like I’d been hit in the face with a pail of water. Then driving the ring road to the hotel through banks of fog. Then invariably on the first day of work we would be standing roadside with an old-school farmer who was still wearing longjohns, jeans and a full length flannel shirt. I dream of taking my wife on a month long trip down there including a few nights camping on the sand on Mustang or South Padre. And I’ll be packing a bunch of clothing that’s half a size bigger than when I left since the food is so amazing down there.
