That’s a good topic, sis. I’ll just share my answer as a wife.
Since I’ve known my husband, helping our parents has never been a problem for us. If we have something extra, we are willing to help both my parents and his parents. My husband is not selfish, and I’m very thankful for that.
That’s also why I sometimes tell him to consider working abroad. Both of our families need financial support. Of course, we want to be financially stable first and provide for our own family. Then, if we have enough, we can also help our parents.
Our parents are getting older. Yes, we are not required to support them, but they raised us, gave us food, and helped us get an education. So if we have enough money and something extra to share, why not give back to them?
Thankfully, helping our parents has never been an issue between me and my husband.
