What I learned from yesterday is that game theory doesn't work without prices to help all the actors assess the risk.
I don't get the impresson, at all, that there was anywhere near majority support (to say nothing of consensus) from the average Bitcoiner.
Against spam? Sure
Worries about Core? That does seem common.
In favor of this particular Bip? I don't get that impression at all.
And once they started talking about a real fork earlier this week, I saw a a very prominent "Nope" materialize even among the supporters.
Am not surprised it petered out.
