Just like any spirit, embodied or otherwise, there's a lot of diversity.
Keeping the door open for "angels" leaves it open for "demons." Therefore, I think it's best to keep the door closed to outsiders entirely.
You can connect with God directly and avoid all the shenanigans. God doesn't want something from you, the others do.
