That's a little short sighted view but one thing is true, Ordinals are securing the chain and will provide the majority of the security budget once the halving arrives so you better cross your fingers, toes and nutsack they succeed.

What is this argument that they're securing the chain? I've been just out of it for a while. Hash power secures the chain...
