What is the biblical perspective of politics? Or more broadly, power games in general? Christ wasn't a conqueror so what does that mean for apprenticing under him? I know there is Romans 13 about subm...

Hey, @average_bitcoiner,

A few more words reflecting on other comments in this thread...

While Daniel and Joseph are beautiful examples of faith, they are certainly not models for us to follow; their histories have been abused by "Christians" who desire to pursue power. Both Daniel and Joseph were very clearly CONSCRIPTS, as was Queen Esther. None PURSUED power; God put them in those places of power, which is not remotely the same as an endorsement of power seeking.

As for Christian Nationalism, it is symptomatic of the misunderstood conflation of the kingdom of satan with what has been called "civil government." This disease of thinking is known as Sphere Sovereignty, promoted by Dutch politician Abraham Kuyper. It's claim is that Church and State (or Ecclesiastic versus Civil government) are both legitimate spheres of influence. This is an entirely false casting of reality. The truth is, we have on one hand the Kingdom Of Heaven, (which, as Jesus tells us, slowly permeates the world and ultimately replaces everything else) and the fiefdoms of satan that have deluded the church into believing in their legitimacy.

It can be clearly seeing that these fiefdoms, aka the nation-states of the world, are utterly illegitimate. They claim power that belongs only to Jesus (Matthew2 8:18), and operate on the fundamentally evil principles of initiation of force, theft, and etc.

God calls us as Christians to live by decentralized and clearly biblical principles.
