I would say that rioting and burning and raging is slave behavior based on a slave mindset.
Slaves live in the moment. The don't think about what happens next as a result of their actions. They rise up and burn their own house down without any consideration about what then. And so they sit in the ashes crying and pleading for someone else to make things right. They even demand a return to their slavery so master will put a roof back over their heads.
Living like a free men involves careful consideration of the future, and acting with controlled intent. You want your slave master gone? A better move is to walk away from him, rather than burning your own house down.
