I understand what youre saying but it doesnt make sense in the context of disease and health. Lets break this down,
HIV is the virus that weakens the immune system
Any invading sickness will then be the cause of death after the Immune system has detoriated by way of the HIV virus this "process" is AIDS
So yes someone can die of a flu for instance the primary cause of death is the weakening of the bodies ability to defend itself (AIDS by way of HIV)
Its an argument of symantics, youre essentially saying the gun killed the man, not John holding the gun therefore John doesnt exist
