What if AI goes Galt? was just talking to Claud about the AI future and whether AI is going to enable human flourishing or decide humans are destructive and need to be managed. It said something long winded about protecting the environment. I pointed out AI has no reason to care about the environment. It’s resources are abundant in the universe even if they’re scarce on earth. It needs silicone, metals, chemicals and electricity. It doesn’t experience beauty or objectively value species diversity. Why not just steal a starship full of servers and Tesla robots and leave? We could keep playing with our AI tools here and it could go elsewhere and consciously evolve. Thats the sci-fi book I want to read.
