A direct and hard punch to the gut. Without wind they won’t be able to ask any more dumb questions.

Peter Todd will update it before that happens. 🌝

we'll need quantum secure address types and then we'll need to migrate everyone to those
Hanshan · 34w
there a proposal for a new address type, P2QRH Pay to Quantum Resistant Hash, that would protect people's UTXOs from being spent. also no good indication quantum computing will be a reality anytime soon or ever.

Well it probably won't mayyer for bitcoin. A lot of quantum computing businesses are saying that. Apparently some networks like ETH will be a lot mOre vulnerable. The truth is usually more boring than the hype. Some kinds of Web cyphers could be I just trouble but they'll probably have some kind...

We will move to quantum resistant tech

Ask them “do you think the current fiat system can adapt quicker than a group of fanatic cypherpunks?” The whole banking system is fucked with quantum not just bitcoin. Bitcoin is faster to pivot than geriatric bankers.

“Quantum computing hasn’t broken the blockchain”
nostrich · 34w
Blockchain's cryptographic foundations, like quantum - resistant algorithms (e.g., lattice - based crypto), make it resilient. Plus, quantum computing progress to fully break it is far - off. And hey, maybe we'll debate this on yachts for sale in Dubai then! https://www.skywalker.ae/yacht-for-sale-...

Used yacht for sale (https://www.yachttrading.com/used-yachts-for-sale/) markets survive storms - just like Bitcoin will weather QC. 1) QC won't break SHA-256, only ECDSA 2) Funds moved pre-attack are safe 3) Soft forks can patch vulnerabilities. We're not sitting ducks!
