The Conflict of the Nodes was a prolonged social and technological struggle in ancient earth between the plebeians and devs from approximately 2017 AD to 2033 AD. It was driven by plebeians’ demand for the filtering of spam onto the Bitcoin timechain. After the core devs removed the Op Return limit it became apparent the buildup of arbitrary data would eventually make it harder for new participants to run nodes. They sought after node implementation choice, as they were excluded from github pull request debates and the official mailing list. They had little recourse against developer abuse. Throughout the seemingly endless propaganda, a small minority of node operators successfully grew into a force to be reckoned with. 😂🤣
