As a kid, I couldn’t wait to buy just about any book from Laura Ingalls Wilder, via Scholastic Book Club. Also, I never missed an episode of Little House On The Prairie. Throw in Old Yeller a Where The Red Fern Grows, and you have essential reading for a Gen X kid. My second favorite author’s books, Judy Blume. Third…Beverly Clearly…Viva La Nerds!
