@nprofile1q... Well how would they be faking them? I think to an extent every plural person gets a bit creative in naming their different um, what's the word, egos I guess.
I mean I've seen someone who says one part of them is Gordon Freeman from Half Life which is obviously silly, but I'm sure that comes from recognizing something of a real seperate shard of themselves that shares something in common with him and that was the easiest thing they could find to give it an identity
I think a lot of plural people also have a sort of observer shard too that could be a deeper baseline for them because they describe internal conversations with different parts, vs how someone with multiple personalities would switch without observing
