it's their right to do so. this is the nature of freedom of association - a concept that humans are familiar with, but traditional social networks are actively hostile towards, for "platform reasons"....
The irony is that we practice freedom of association all the time IRL—until the internet tries to flatten it into one giant compulsory feed.
