As an electrician, this is partially true. We do use it to help us understand a detail of a installation that may be unfamiliar. I recently used it because I was looking at a detail for some cathodic protection I was unfamiliar with, and asked it to explain it to me. It definitely is useful for broadly understanding concepts and asking follow-up questions.

For specifics, like calculating wire sizing or transformer sizing, it's still wrong often enough that I don't trust it.
