Senator Josh Hawley is encouraging Republicans to shun the $300M in lobbying money from the AI industry and instead regulate the industry to avoid the ire of their voters.

AI is now viewed so negatively that I can see a Trump-like populist candidate rising up just by being anti-datacenters and anti-AI.
