🌍 Today is Earth Day. This year’s theme, ‘Our Power, Our Planet’, highlights the difference we can make when we work together.
📚 Since 2018, the BBA has championed the role of blockchain in tackling some of the defining environmental challenges of our time — climate change, green finance, carbon markets, and ecosystem accountability.
Our position has remained consistent:
➡️ Net zero commitments must be provable, not merely asserted.
➡️ Carbon credits must be verifiable, not double-counted.
➡️ Climate finance must be traceable, not lost in institutional friction.
🔗 Blockchain is the convergent infrastructure that makes all three possible — immutable provenance, continuous auditability, and programmable disbursement of climate funds.
✍🏽 The JBBA has published peer-reviewed evidence on carbon markets, supply-chain traceability, blue economy tokenisation, and ESG reporting. Our parliamentary engagement continues to place these questions at the centre of the UK’s climate and technology policy conversation.
🌍 The planet does not need more pledges. It needs better infrastructure for the pledges we have already made.
