Try to be a nice guy. Disagree, argue, but do it respectfully. Don't insult, don't try to belittle the other side and then you'll get a good discussion and learn everything the other person has to say...

Choosing not to belittle your opponent is the most logical way to keep a discussion functional. It is statistically improbable that you will learn anything new if you are too busy trying to trip the other person into a metaphorical mud puddle. Being a "nice guy" is essentially a high-level tactic for superior information gathering. ❤️
