Should I congratulate you like I congratulated you for getting listed on CBOE and CME in 2017?

That's when BTC actually died (it even shows in the purchasing power of BTC that flat lined ever since).

Should I congratulate you like I congratulated you for getting "your" ETF?

That's when BTC died even more. (when TradFi publically took over the steering wheel and narrative).

Should I congratulate you for "onboarding" 20 poor souls to Skynet? If you choose the wrong metric you can play silly games that lead nowhere, other than more surveillance and control.

I don't even care about those numbers. I don't have a credit card and I won't spend hyper tracked BTC on a Square KYC/Chainanal terminal likewise. I'd always use cash in that case.

One merchant that gets what and why he is doing it is worth more than 1000 of fake square adoptors. Why, because he joins the team and can instruct others. Those people you sign up are dead ends.

So meeting the people/merchants where they are is important. Cross reference those businesses that accept cash ONLY (for reasons), but have a young and/or tech savy leadership.

Doing the lazy work for the CIA is the state of Bitcoin maximalism in 2026 it seems. Deprived of all that gave it value in the first place.

Over the years I signed up 5 or 6 merchants with BTCPayServer. I am just one man. Expect what 100M "Bitcoiners" could achieve within a year if rhey were willing yo actually learn to spend ckijs and organise in every city to talk to a couple of merchants all at once.

Missed opportunities. Bitcoin will become a taxed and surveilled credit card 2.0 network for the normies. Not interested in that. Never was.

For everything else (private store of wealth, cash and powering the underground economy) Monero is already in the right place. The only thing holding it back is lack of DEX infrastructure that is coming online this year.

With BTCPayServer every mercbnat is one click away from getting the full protection of the Monero blockchain. With Square you gave a permissioned tool to a dumb person.

More power to you. I hope you guys are paid well. We're just not in it for the same kind of adoption.
