Fedi is great, but it's for rather short writing. For longer writing, rich formatting, hyperlinks, editor notes and more are very very nice!
A bit of a sour point is that hosting blogs got quite a bit more harder since AI bots started hammering down every website. It *probably* won't take your website down - but I don't like feeding the slop machine with my creativity, haha.
