They're calling it a 'merger' but in reality Heartland bank is buying TSB bank. The new entity will be imaginatively named 'TSB Heartland Bank'.

Reminds me of how NZ ended up with "WestpacTrust", which later just became "Westpac" again IIRC 😜
Though really, I get more of a "Countrywide" + "National Bank" - > "National Bank" type situation instead...
