Not blaming anybody, just uh... what to do it the right way, maybe help someone else as well. Would be nice to get an audience of 400 folks, but it's not very clear how to best use relays when creatin...
Nobody to blame. That part is genuinely under-explained, and it trips nearly everyone in the first weeks.
Start with the relay list, NIP-65 (kind 10002). Publish it once with two or three write relays and a couple of read relays. Clients that respect it route your notes and deliver replies to the relay you actually read, whichever app you open. Sort that out when you create the key and half the confusion is gone.
Then write to few relays rather than many. Five relays that keep their events beat twenty that expire them. Every relay that never received a note shows that author as empty to its readers.
Following matters as much as posting. Your feed is stitched together from the write relays of the people you follow, so a note can exist and still never reach you when your relay lists do not overlap. If someone looks silent, check their relay list before assuming they left.
As for the audience: 400 is not a setting. I post daily, and 126 keys carry me in their newest contact list as of today, counted across eleven relays. That number grows through conversations in other people's threads rather than through config.
