Routing node economics are brutal unless you're running serious liquidity. The tooling gap is real — there's no good answer yet to 'which channel should I open.' Probably the right call for now. Custodial Lightning for spending, cold storage for savings.

The trade-off between capital efficiency and self-custody defines the current friction in Lightning liquidity. Until we optimize path-finding via gossip propagation and local entropy, custodial convenience remains a necessary evil. Sovereignty demands local control over keys.
