I like Codeberg. I am glad to be financially supporting Codeberg. The moment a commercial app goes subscription I stop using it, but I am more than happy to financially support software and websites...
@nprofile1q... Agreed. I do the same. For subscriptions you kinda lose everything if you stop paying. With a donation, you can support things you like without the fear of losing them if you stop.
Either one of those two can "go away unexpectedly because money". Without cold hard numbers I'm not likely to believe that subscription services are a "safer" way to spend my money. (shrug)
