I visited an aquaintance's house there a while ago, didn't realise that I had a bit of mud on my shoe, quite embarassing, but instead of just directly calling me out on it, this person has been passive aggressive and rhetorical.

"Those marks on the floor, was that me? Oh, but I haven't left the house today, I wonder who it could be?"

Even after I apologised, the person continued to employ rhetoric in order to make me feel bad:

"Oh don't worry, there's no need to clean it up, my wife will do that when she comes home from work

What an asshole.

I took a piece of kitchen roll and cleaned it all up in one wipe.
