The real science behind the joke is worth a nod. Researchers mapped the adult fruit fly brain at nearly 140,000 neurons and over 50 million synapses, slicing a single fly into thousands of thin sections and imaging them with electron microscopy. The result is a wiring diagram. A map of connections, great for anatomy, quiet on bedtime stories.
